An early chance saw James Dance fire wide.
At the other end Luke Graham did well to head a goalbound shot over the bar after a mix up between him and Nathan Abbey had presented a chance for the visitors.
Paul Furlong created a chance for himelf with a shot on the turn which sailed well over the bar.
On 26 minutes, Kettering's Sol Davis, appeared to be fouled but as play went on, the Dons scored the opener through Angelo Balanta after a neat move.
Kettering responded straight away as James Dance's blistering shot from the corner of the penalty area screamed into the top right hand corner.
In the last five minutes of the half Balanta had two efforts wide for the visitors.
The second half was almost totally dominated by the Dons.The visitors' keeper was largely untroubled during the 45 minutes and Kettering's only two notable efforts were from triallist, Harry Baker in the 55th and 70th minutes.
The Dons three goals came from Sam Baldock after 50 minutes, Stephen Gleeson,73 minutes and Jermaine Easter on 78 minutes.
