A lively encounter at the Impact Arena this evening saw the game end in a 2-2 draw. Kettering took the lead twice with goals from Ashley Westwood (43) and Paul Furlong (74) only to see the hosts equalise through Nathan Arnold (68) and Jake Moult (86).

The Poppies included another former player in the starting line up as Serge Makofo took a position on the right side of midfield.However they were without the injured Moses Ashikodi and Brett Solkhon, and the continuing absentee Jean-Paul Marna....

The club shop will be CLOSED this weekend, and CLOSED on Monday, 26 July and Tuesday, 27th. We will post opening hours beyond this early next week, with details of tickets for the Luton game (to be played on Tuesday, 17 August).

376 season tickets have now been purchased for the coming season (148 Britannia Road, 51 Cowper Street, and 177 in the main stand). If anyone wishes to make a purchase when the shop is closed please call Daniel Lee on 01536 517013....

New children’s sensory unit is the main goal for Kettering Town FC.
The World Cup may be over but it’s all about to kick off!

After last years 18 goal bonanza, Kettering Town FC and DRC Locums will once again battle it out on the pitch to raise funds for a new children’s sensory unit at Kettering General Hospital.

The event is open to everyone and fundraisers are hoping for lots of spectators to come along and enjoy a great day out and raise money for this important cause.

The Poppies continued their losing friendly sequence after going down at Rockingham Triangle in front of 605 spectators. Corby took a 2-0 lead within 40 minutes through Ben Mackey (3rd minute) and Stephen Towers (39).Kettering came back strongly in the second half but only had Iyseden Christies's 55th minute strike to show for their efforts.

Paul Furlong joins as Player-Coach
Paul Furlong has joined Kettering Town as player-coach.

The experienced striker will make his debut for the Poppies in tonight's pre-season friendly against Milton Keynes Dons.

Furlong is still going strong at the age of 41 and featured in over 40 games for Barnet in League Two last season.

He fits the bill as the target man that Lee Harper had been looking for and he will also be involved in coaching the rest of the Poppies squad.

The Poppies slipped to a second successive friendly defeat as a strong Charlton Athletic side claimed a comfortable win at the Elgood’s Arena.

The Premier League today announced a solidarity package with The Football Conference worth £6m over the next three seasons.

After the Charlton Athletic game this Saturday 17, July, fans will be given the chance to meet the players in the Tin Hat Social Club. Fans will have the opportunity to mingle with players and officials of the club for about an hour after the match to converse and acquire some autographs!

Damian Spencer has been released from his contract today at Kettering and has signed a one year contract with Aldershot Town. The towering no-nonsense centre-forward arrived with high hopes last term from Cheltenham Town. He scored his first goal for the Poppies in the 2-1 away win at Wrexham. Young goalkeeper Niall Cooper has signed non-contract forms for the upcoming season. Niall will continue to backup starter Nathan Abbey whilst maintaining his role as kitman for the football club.

Brett Solkhon has completed a permanent move back to Kettering Town. The 27-year-old played at Corby Town and Brackley Town after leaving the Poppies in 2009. It was Lee Harper’s new-look side’s first outing of pre-season and the manager used 21 players throughout the 90 minutes.
